November is National pomegranate month! When Meghan's mom and dad visited us they brought us a bunch from Costco.

I was studygrouping...and I was trying to describe Enamel development to my classmate. When she looked at me with big eyes and said...
"You're a beatnik... by how you talk and dress, kinda jazzy and strange."
Beatnik...Is this good or bad? I'm guessing my way of describing it was on a different level. I looked it up on wiki and urban dic. and it just seems like a creative person to me.
It's a 50's term, and I would know this because???? The lady who called me it lived through the 50's so she's more familiar with it.

We switched partners again. My classmate hadn't been to the dentist for 4 years, I flipped because I removed a significant amount of calculus off my classmates teeth!!! My first patient with "click-able plaque" I'm her 4th partner, I'm surprised nobody had already removed it....
It was really unfair because we have to keep a non revealing facial expression and I wanted to do a victory dance... It was thrilling.
Breakups.
One of my classmates broke up with her boyfriend. Complicated complicated story but I've not heard of a breakup that wasn't. So she stayed at my place this weekend (her ex husband had their kids this week).
She asked me to look up the 5 steps to grieving and go over them with her... Kübler-Ros style. Coincidentally, I watched a movie right before she came over that mentioned those steps "The Life Of David Gale."
To remind you, the five stages of grief are denial, anger, bargaining, depression, and acceptance.
I had a kind of... small encounter this year with a guy who made music. (eight months later it still gets to me but he'll never know. Moving on.). I got out one of his songs that's more mellow and we listened to it while reading this breakup book all night. OF all songs to pick...it was oddly appropriate.

I like some offbeat music that a lot of people wouldn't think I'd like. I like a lot of conventional things too but sometimes I surprise myself.
Ok so it's about 1:30 in the morning and I'm finishing off the last chapter I had to read this weekend...
I'm reading about tooth germs and eruptions and all these crazy orders when they put this line in there. Apparently they thought that this chapter was too tense so they wanted to lighten the mood with some humor.
For some reason this got on my nerves and annoyed me so bad that I had to discuss this with my brother. Seriously...
When the primary tooth is lost, the tooth fairy is called to action with rates now approaching very high levels.
They even made tooth fairy bold...
So this is some of what my brother said about it...

[2:02:46 AM] I had a programming book that had a bunch of star trek stuff in it.
[2:02:59 AM] there is no humor at 1:30 in the morning...
[2:03:29 AM] they didn't know you would be reading it at 1:30 in the morning.. And actually the later it gets the more funny things seem to be sometimes.
Why did I get so upset... probably because I'm tired... but I'm glad my brother was awake so that I didn't go to bed upset.
Because I feel bad for not citing I'm just going to put all this info in real quick...

Suzanne and Celeste invited two Asians one was Celeste's friend and the other was pretty much for me (good friends).
So we arranged it so I could sit across from the Korean-Glen... It wasn't bad, I started up some pretty decent conversations and I wasn't awkward about it.
I initiated it and he didn't follow up...

We started extra/intra oral exams. During the demonstrations the instructor said something and I thought it was strange so at the end of the demonstration they asked if we had any questions so I asked...

13 girls standing around a dental chair and there was silence. The rest of the day I was reminded what it really was.
